Allyson Hoeppner, originally called Ally, was a wonderful pug.
In the beginning at night, she made a very warm fur hat or fur collar...during the day, she was all puppy. She made her way in a family where there was already an older pug, Doodee (also on this memorial page) and they became fast friends.
She was a super mother to her stuffed dog, Buster....making sure Buster was in bed with us and tucked in before she would go to sleep herself. She took good care of her buddy as Doodee’s health began to fail. Allyson was never far away from Doodee.
Later, she continued her talent for motherhood, being a sort of foster mother to Daisy Whippet, who had come to live in our house as a puppy and again during Al’s last years. She taught Daisy and little pug sister, Jessi, everything they needed to know about living in our family.
Allyson was a trooper when it came to her own later years and her medical issues.
In her last couple of months, she preferred to sleep on the floor in the midst of the noise and chaos of toddler grandchildren playing...
Two days before she passed away, she took a wagon ride with two of the grandbabies...and you could see how much she loved that ride and those children...and how much they loved her.
We will always love Allyson, and we miss her very much.
